Main duties of the job
The Mental Health Clinical Support Worker (Level 3) is a member of the care team who provides nursing care and interventions to a delegated patient caseload, assisting the Registered Nurse/Practitioners to deliver high quality and effective care.
Duties will be dependent upon clinical area of work and if it is a hospital or community role and additional training undertaken but may include:
Personal care or chaperone duties
Supporting patients with bathing, toileting, dressing and meals
Records patient information
A range of delegated clinical care duties including dressings, medication administration
Undertakes and records patients’ vital signs
Escalate any concerns in observation or change in patient’s condition

Qualifications
Essential
- GCSE English and Maths grade C or 4 or Functional skills for English/Maths
- Care Certificate
Desirable
- 5 GCSE grade 4 or C and above or equivalent
- Evidence of mandatory and statutory essential training skills, for example, Basic Life Support, manual handling, infection control, fire etc
- Education and training to NVQ level 3/Work based diploma or equivalent
Experience
Essential
- Relevant experience of working in Health or Social Care Environment delivering personal care or health care experience gained through an education programme
Desirable
- Relevant experience working in the NHS
