The DLR Institute of Communications and Navigation is dedicated to mission-oriented research in selected areas of communication and navigation. His work ranges from the theoretical foundations to the demonstration of new processes and systems in a real environment and is embedded in the DLR programmes Space, Aeronautics, Transport and Security and Digitalisation.
What to expect
Optical free-space communication is an exciting technology that is currently being intensively developed to enable secure, high-bandwidth communication in all regions of the world. To ensure reliable light reception at the optical ground station, adaptive optics are used to detect wavefront aberrations in light and correct them in real time. This requires high optical precision, powerful control systems and accurate calibration procedures.
Your tasks
- Design and implementation of a comprehensive C++ test suite, including hardware simulators
- Establishing a Continuous Integration Pipeline to Automate Validation for the Adaptive Optics System
- Design of a logging system
- Reworking the codebase with modern CMake
- Creating benchmarks to ensure our real-time performance requirements are met
