Join our dedicated team at St John’s Residential & Nursing Home, a 39-bed home providing high-quality, person-centred residential and nursing care. We are looking for a compassionate and motivated Registered Nurse who is committed to delivering exceptional care and enhancing the lives of our residents.

In this rewarding role, you will assess, plan, deliver and evaluate individualised care, supporting residents with their daily living needs while promoting dignity, independence and wellbeing. You will work closely with families, colleagues and the wider multidisciplinary team to ensure the highest standards of care are maintained.

As a Band 5 Staff Nurse, you will have the opportunity to take responsibility for shift coordination when required, support and mentor junior staff and students, and contribute to continuous service improvement. We are seeking a nurse who can work both independently and collaboratively, demonstrates excellent communication skills, and embodies our CARE values in everything they do.

Job responsibilities

To assess, develop, implement and evaluate care plans demonstrating high standards of evidence-based care.

To work autonomously, recognising changes in patients’/service users’ presentation which require intervention, knowing when to escalate to senior staff.

To guide, advise and direct other staff in the delivery of programmes of care.

To support patients/service users in undertaking activities of daily living within care plans

To undertake the role of health promoter and educator for patients/service users and their support networks.

To report all accidents and incidents as per policy and participate in risk management and Quality and Safety processes e.g. SWARM.

To be accountable for ensuring that safeguards are in place for patients/service users and escalate any safety, safeguarding or risk concerns following the appropriate.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Registered Nurse
  • Experience or willingness to work towards the role of mentor, student nurse assessor or supervisor.
