Job summary

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Admin Team. We are looking for an enthusiastic motivated person with excellent communication and organisational skills to work on both the female and male wards, which are all 18-bedded.

In addition to regular admin duties, this role will be crucial in delivering very high standards of record-keeping including auditing of clinical records, weekly environmental checks, and taking patient photos for medication charts and the ordering of linen. This post will also offer admin support in terms of holiday/sickness cover for main reception and cover for the Wards Clerks.

The successful candidate must have a good standard of secondary education, a good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook, a good understanding of confidentiality.

We are building a new hospital in Bexhill to replace our inpatient services. This means that, if you are successful in your application, you will be asked to transfer to the new facilities when it opens. The temporary base until the new Hospital opens will be at the Dept of Psychiatry, Eastbourne DGH, Kings Drive, Eastbourne.

Working hours are Monday to Friday 08.00 – 16.00 – 37 1/2 hours per week

Job description

You must be able to provide a comprehensive range of admin support to the nursing managers and team, liaise with patients and other departments and services and to respond effectively whilst maintaining excellent communication and relationship skills.

Qualifications

Essential

  • NVQ 3 or equivalent qualifications
  • Good standard of secondary education; GCSE at Grade C or above or equivalent

Knowledge/Experience

Essential

  • Proven experience of a range of administrative procedures
  • Experience of producing documents to a high standard of presentation with good accuracy
  • Experience of developing, managing and maintaining office information systems
  • Experience of working as part of a team
