We would like to invite you to become part of the Diabetes and Endocrinology team at Avon Ward in South Warwickshire Foundation Trust.

This exciting opportunity is for experienced nurses who are looking to improve their clinical skills and knowledge on a night only contract. Avon Ward is an acute, medical ward which specialises in Diabetes and Endocrinology. We are a busy acute ward, and we work closely with the diabetes care team, providing education and many learning opportunities for staff and patients.

We are a very friendly and welcoming team, who strive to provide the best high-quality care to our patients. You will be fully supported by the Ward Manager and team band 6’s that work regularly on the floor alongside the team, embedding the highest level of nursing skills and care. We strive to promote a friendly and supportive environment where learning from each other is important.

We are looking for enthusiastic, highly motivated individuals who have excellent communication skills, sharing in the ward’s desire to deliver and develop high standards of quality care. Job responsibilities

Clinical

  • Take clinical responsibility for patients within your allocated area of work
  • Continuously assess, plan, implement and evaluate treatment, using appropriate programmes/methods of care
  • To ensure a high delivery of quality care in accordance with Trust policies, procedures and guidelines. Participating in activities to improve the quality, productivity and effectiveness of care in response to local and national policies and initiatives
  • To practice in accordance with the NMC Code of Professional conduct and scope of professional practice and maintain own NMC registration

Communication

  • Showing empathy, understanding, and professionalism, when communicating with patients, their carers and families. Identifying individual needs and therefore utilizing a range of agreed communication mediums
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with colleagues and all levels of staff
  • Maintain confidentiality at all times, as required by legislation and Trust policy

Professionalism

  • Ensure records and documentation are maintained, kept confidential, and meets professional NMC guidelines, appropriate Trust standards, and in line with the Data Protection Act

Qualifications

Essential

  • First Level RGN
  • Degree/Diploma in Nursing/Health studies
  • NMC Registration
