Hours per Week: 37.5. Working pattern – 12 hour rotational shifts including day shifts, late shifts, night shifts and Bank Holidays over 7 days a week.

The role will be based at the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service station which is at St Mary’s Hospital, full training will be provided.
Applicants will need to have a minimum of a provisional C1 driving licence and have passed both their theory and hazard perception tests before their start date.
Job responsibilities
To assist the patient in all activities of daily living, with both direct and indirect supervision as delegated by a registered nurse.
Maintain patient comfort, dignity and privacy at all times.
Prepare patients drinks, serve meals and provide assistance as required.
Assist in the emergency resuscitation of patients, following appropriate training.
Escort patients to other areas and departments as per Trust escort protocol.
Maintain high standards of care in an environment which promotes equality and sensitivity for all individuals.
Person Specification
Qualifications
Essential
- 4 GCSE’s including Maths, English or equivalent qualifications. Functional skills level 2 will be accepted
- Full UK manual driving licence
- C1 category on driving licence (provisional accepted at the time of application as long as it is accompanied with completion and pass of the C1 Theory Test).
Desirable
- Accredited Level 3 Certificate in Emergency Response Ambulance Driving
- Accredited Level 3 Diploma in Ambulance Emergency and Urgent Care Support
- Current First Aid Certificate
