Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Technical Support Assistant to assist in the management of the medical equipment inventory and associated NCA systems and records.
To run an efficient customer help desk.
To support the engineers with routine technical administration, including ordering, entry of service records.
To assist with contract renewals and management including contacting external providers for quotes and/or arranging servicing.
Main duties of the job
Communication & Relationships
Advise users on medical equipment and inventory. Operate a helpful help desk for equipment queries. Communicate professionally, following NCA values. Handle sensitive or confidential information as directed.
Analytical & Data Management
Enter test results and equipment data into the management system. Help maintain and update the equipment database, website, and master registers.
Planning & Organisation
Manage own workload to meet deadlines. Support contractor activities with minimal disruption. Coordinate equipment access for servicing. Update the website, compile reports, and maintain spreadsheets/databases.
Physical Skills
Accurately read and enter information quickly and repeatedly. Work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Patient Care
Provide specialist information on equipment used in patient care. Assist with incident data collection.
Policy & Service Development
Support ISO9001 registration and audits. Help implement changes from quality leads.
Financial & Asset Responsibilities
Assist with orders, service contracts, and consumables. Care for assigned assets and liaise with suppliers.
Training & Human Resources
Support staff training on the equipment database.
Information Management
Keep confidential data secure. Process equipment history and produce reports per Trust policy.
Research & Development
Conduct audits and present findings to team leads.
Qualifications
Essential
- Level 3 BTEC Electronics
- Full clean UK driving licence
Desirable
- HNC (level 4/5 BTEC) minimum in Electronics engineering
Experience
Essential
- Experienced in fault finding on electronic devices
- Experienced in carrying out routine maintenance on electronic devices
- Following instructions to carry out maintenance tasks
Desirable
- Working in a ISO9001 environment
- Use of test tools
- Previous work in a field of electronic maintenance and repair
