Barenji’s lab at New Mexico Tech is seeking highly motivated Master’s and Ph.D. students to join a groundbreaking research project in Systematic Collaborative Robotics and Human-Centric Workplaces. These positions are supported by New Mexico Tech University and industry partnerships, offering students the chance to work with cutting-edge robotics technologies and systems through hands-on activities. Positions are available starting Fall 2025 or Spring 2026.

Available Positions

  • Ph.D. Position: Fully funded, with opportunities for teaching and working with advanced technologies.
  • Master’s Position: Fully funded, with opportunities for teaching and working with advanced technologies.

Job Description

  • Conduct pioneering research in systematic collaborative robotics and human-centric workplace technologies.
  • Work with advanced robotic systems, focusing on human-robot collaboration.
  • Engage in system design, programming, and industrial automation.
  • Develop innovative solutions in collaboration with industry leaders and researchers at New Mexico Tech.

Your Profile

  • Education: MSc or bachelor’s degree or an equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Programming Skills: Strong proficiency in C#, Python, or C++.
  • Robotics & Automation Knowledge: Familiarity with robot programming and PLC systems.
  • CAD & 3D Modeling: Proficiency in CAD tools and 3D modeling techniques.
  • System Design Experience: Demonstrated experience in designing and implementing complex systems.
  • Agent-Based Modeling & Simulation: Knowledge of agent-based systems and discrete-event-based simulation.
