We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated GPHC registered technicians to work in a dynamic and lively department, becoming part of our rotational team working across three sites.
The successful applicants will take a pro-active approach with strong problem solving skills, have excellent customer service skills, be self motivated and be committed to patient and customer care.

Main duties of the job
Rotational technicians will undertake a 12 month development program working in all aspects of the pharmacy department including in-patients and outpatients dispensaries, distribution and , when required, aseptic services.
They also have the opportunity to undertake an accredited checking qualification and may be able to participate in the medicines management service under the direction of the lead technicians.
Applicants should hold a BTEC level 3 in Pharmaceutical Science and NVQ3 in pharmacy services or equivalent pharmacy qualification, be registered with the GPhC and be willing to undertake a competency based training package to allow progression through this band.
The successful applicant will join a band 4 rotation working one later night, weekends as well as participation in the bank holiday Rota. Most full time staff work their hours over 4 days but we support other flexible working arrangements
Successful candidates will only be able to take up the post once registration with the GPHC is confirmed.

Experience
Essential
- 1 years’ experience in Hospital Pharmacy (or equivalent relevant experience)or Completion of 2 year training post in hospital pharmacy
- Accuracy in dispensing process and use of computer software
- Understand and perform a range of work procedures and practices which require underpinning theoretical knowledge including Dispensary processes Controlled Drugs legislation
- Ability to Communicate effectively with other healthcare professionals and members of the public
professional Qualifications
Essential
- BTEC level 3 in Pharmaceutical Sciences
- NVQ3 in pharmacy services or Pharmacy L3 Integrated Apprenticeship BTEC
- Diploma in the Principles and Practice for Pharmacy Technicians
- GPHC Registered
Desirable
- Qualification in Accuracy Checking Dispensed Medicines must be completed within 1 year of undertaking post
